‘The Flash’ Reunites ‘Prison Break’ Alums Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller
Once brothers on Prison Break, former partners in crime Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are set to cause trouble yet again on The Flash. Purcell has been cast as DC Comics pyromaniac Heatwave and will star alongside Miller, his Prison Break co-star, as Captain Cold. The villainous duo will first appear together in episode 10, though Miller officially makes his debut in episode 4. The series premieres Oct. 7 at 8PM on The CW. [THR]
Dwayne Johnson Will Play Black Adam in ‘Shazam’
Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter today to confirm he’ll be playing villain Black Adam in a film adaptation of DC Comics’ Shazam. The actor had previously teased he’d either star as the title character or his nemesis, but now the truth is finally out. Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Slayer) is set to write a script for the movie, though Warner Bros. has yet to announce the project and give it a release date. [Variety]
Lifetime Casts Third ‘Flowers in the Attic’ Movie
A third Flowers in the Attic movie is officially happening at Lifetime, following the news that the cable network has greenlighted If There Be Thorns for 2015. Jason Lewis and Rachael Carpani will take over as Christopher and Cathy Dollanganger, the siblings in V.C. Andrews’ book series who became known for their incestuous affair. Mason Cook will play Cathy’s son, Bart. The fourth book, Seeds of Yesterday, is also near an official greenlight and would premiere late in 2015. [THR]
‘Arrow’ Season 3 Promo Reveals New Character Identities
Oliver, Felicity, Thea and more will soon explore the age-old question, “Who are you?” And a new promo for Arrow reveals some of their answers. In the short teaser, Oliver and Felicity finally have their long-awaited first kiss. There’s also glimpses of Thea becoming a badass fighter under the tutelage of her father the Dark Archer. Even Laurel gets in on the action by beating up some poor guy. Season 3 begins Oct. 8 at 8PM on The CW. [YouTube]
‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Goes Dark in First Promo for Season 2
The season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t exactly leave off on a happy note, and a new promo for season 2 reveals the series will get even darker. Now forced to live in the shadows, new footage shows Skye accepting her calling as an agent, while Ward and Fitz don’t seem to be doing too well after last season’s events. Lucy Lawless and Adrianne Palicki are also set to guest star on the Marvel series, which returns Sep 23 at 9PM on ABC. [YouTube]
