‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Cast Revealed in Vanity Fair

May the 4th be with you, Star Wars fans. With only seven months to go until Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens premieres in theaters, Vanity Fair has decided to celebrate this very special day by releasing a first look at the upcoming movie. Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), Finn (John Boyega), Rey (Daisy Ridley) and droid BB-8 grace the magazine’s front cover in a shot from acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Then inside the June issue, Adam Driver’s villainous Kylo Ren and Lupita Nyong’o’s C.G.I. character, Maz Kanata, are finally revealed. But let’s not forget about Oscar Isaac’s Resistance pilot Poe Dameron, who is looking very stylish hanging from his X-Wing fighter in a new photo. And finally, there’s the helmeted debut of Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma aka The Chrometrooper from the newest trailer. Syfy Orders ‘The Magicians’ to Series

The Harry Potter movies may have ended in 2011, but the franchise’s influence can still be felt today. Syfy has given a series order to The Magicians, based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Lev Grossman. The 12-episode drama centers on Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph), a grad student at a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his group of 20-something friends soon discover the fantasy world they read about as children is real and poses a great danger to humanity. Stella Maeve, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta and Summer Bishil will also star in the series from John McNamara (Aquarius) and Sera Gamble (Supernatural). Mike Cahill (Another Earth) directed the pilot. [THR]

First Look at Cast of David Ayer’s DC Comics Movie ‘Suicide Squad’

While everyone was busy geeking out over Avengers: Age of Ultron all weekend, director David Ayer sneakily revealed the first cast photo from his upcoming movie Suicide Squad. Jared Leto (Joker, not pictured), Adam Beach (Slipknot), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Karen Fukuhara (Katana), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc) and Jay Hernandez (El Diablo) star in the film, which follows a team of DC villains who the government relies on to do their dirty work. Orlando Jones Leaving ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Ahead of Season 3

First, showrunner Mark Goffman announced in March that he wouldn’t be returning for season 3, and now star Orlando Jones, who plays Frank Irving, won’t be back either. Most 90s kids remember Pennywise, the scary red-haired clown of ABC’s TV movie It. Well, hide your balloons and stay away from sewer drains because Stephen King’s notorious monster is back, as Will Poulter is in talks to play the malevolent clown for True Detective director Cary Fukunaga’s remake of It. The plan is to split the story into two films, one focusing on the main characters as kids and the other on them as adults, with Poulter to star in both. [Variety]
