Radar Watch: ‘Star Wars’ Short Turned Film, ‘The Good Dinosaur’ Trailer and More!

Star Wars - Black Angel

‘Star Wars’ Short ‘Black Angel’ Being Remade Into Feature Film

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was a Star Wars short film titled Black Angel that screened overseas before The Empire Strikes Back in 1980. Now director Roger Christian has created an Indiegogo campaign to remake his short into a feature film starring John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings), Rutger Hauer, and Laura Weissbecker. On top of traditional funding, Christian (who won an Oscar for art direction on Star Wars: A New Hope) hopes to raise an additional $100,000 for the film about a knight who defeats an evil, skeletal force. Pixar Releases First Trailer for ‘The Good Dinosaur’

Pixar’s Inside Out hits theaters in just over two weeks, and so it’s time to take a look at the studio’s next animated film. Disney has released the first teaser trailer for The Good Dinosaur. Imagine a world where the asteroid that caused the dinosaurs to become extinct never happened. When a young Apatosaurus named Arlo finds himself far away from home one day, he goes on an adventure and befriends a human cave-boy called Spot. Directed by Peter Sohn and starring Lucas Neff, John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, Bill Hader and Judy Greer, The Good Dinosaur premieres on Nov. 25.

Adam Rodriguez on Empire

‘CSI: Miami’ Star Adam Rodriguez to Recur on ‘Empire’ in Season 2

Adam Rodriguez has his eye on Empire‘s Cookie — Lyon, that is. The CSI: Miami alum has joined FOX’s musical drama in a recurring role. He’ll play ‘Laz Delgado,’ a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills. As a native New Yorker and former EMT, Laz takes a vested interest in Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). But he won’t be the only new love interest vying for Cookie’s affections this fall. Season two of Empire premieres Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. [THR]

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller on The Flash

Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell could be very busy over the next year. Fox is developing a limited-series revival of the duo’s hit drama Prison Break. The project is still in the early stages, but word is the series would be similar to last year’s 24: Live Another Day, which featured a closed-ended storyline told over a dozen or so episodes. Miller and Purcell are also currently hard at work on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, premiering midseason on The CW. [TVLine]
