‘Galaxy Quest’ Series in Development at Amazon

Never give up, never surrender! Because a Galaxy Quest series is now in development at Amazon Studios. Paramount Television has partnered with the streaming outlet to revive the 1999 cult sci-fi hit, which follows the cast of a Star Trek-like series as they get abducted by aliens and are forced to run a real spaceship. No word on whether the original actors — Sigourney Weaver, Tim Allen, Alan Rickman and Sam Rockwell — will return for the new show. But behind the camera, the film’s co-writer Robert Gordon will pen the script, and director Dean Parisot is coming back to helm the pilot. [EW]

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Teaser: There Has Been An Awakening

The force is with Finn in the latest Star Wars teaser from Lucasfilm. And the young, potential padawan is definitely not going down without a fight. “There has been an awakening… Have you felt it?” asks the ominous voice of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) at the beginning of the promo, as Finn (John Boyega) takes a blue lightsaber and faces off against villain Rylo Ken (Adam Driver). There’s also a quick shot of Daisy Ridley’s Rey looking very worried, along with a glimpse of the First Order assembling for battle. Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters Dec. 18th, 2015.

Mads Mikkelsen - Star Wars - Doctor Strange

‘Hannibal’ Star Mads Mikkelsen in Early Talks for Villain Role in Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’

Mads Mikkelsen is moving on rather nicely from NBC’s cancelled cult hit Hannibal. He’s now in talks to play a villain in Marvel’s Doctor Strange. While his exact role is being kept under wraps, sources say an offer to the actor is expected to come very soon. Benedict Cumberbatch will star in the film as the eponymous Dr. Strange, alongside Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Doctor Strange debuts Nov. 4, 2016, with production set to start late this year. Mikkelsen will also appear in next year’s Star Wars: Rogue One. [Variety]
