Review: Ours is not an easy life, Cassie. And witchcraft has never been about fun and games.

Now this is what I’m talking about. A lot of people thought last week’s episode of The Secret Circle was finally the one to break the show’s mold, but while I agree it was exciting, it didn’t really do much for me. This week’s episode though takes it to a whole different level.

Even though I knew how “Slither” would end, it didn’t make it any less powerful or heartbreaking. If you haven’t been watching the show thus far, this is the one you need to watch. It changes everything.  (more…)

Review: The only thing stronger than your craving for blood is your love for this girl.

Usually a bubble episode, one taking place in a single location, is a show’s way to be extra creative and also save money for a change. So leave it to The Vampire Diaries then to make it into one of their best episodes ever.

I know I said that two weeks ago with “The End of the Affair”, but I swear guys, “The Reckoning” is just as good or better. This is shaping up to be quite the season. (more…)

Review: You tell me, what would a woman like you never do?

Last week’s episode of Ringer ended with a big ol’ cliffhanger of death, and this week’s episode ended with a little ol’ answer of who was responsible. The question I have though is: Was it the answer you expected? Because, personally, I so called it!

Still, “The Poor Kids Do It Everyday” wasn’t exactly the episode I expected to see this week. I’m not sure exactly what I expected, but I’m pretty sure an hour of ‘Oh, she’s missing!’ and “Let’s give Juliet a life!” wasn’t in my cards. (more…)

Review: We both know why Sutton can never find out who her birth mother is.

The secrets are getting deeper and the motives are getting clearer as we uncover more and more lies on our way to the midseason finale of The Lying Game. This week though it’s a classic case of not everything is as it seems.

“Sex, Lies, and Hard Knocks High” has everyone, and us, asking the big questions and trying to get a handle on all the secrets in their lives. From Laurel’s sex life, to the lies Kristen’s been told about Annie, and the hard knocks Char’s been given, who will walk away with the truth?  (more…)

Review: No one said becoming a terrorist was easy, Saul.

By the end of the premiere of Homeland last week, it was not only clear that Nicholas Brody could be the terrorist Carrie expected to find, but also that Carrie Mathison wasn’t exactly the investigator we should be expected to trust.

So far this series doesn’t seem to be setting itself up to be a who’s who of good vs bad. Instead, it’s a nuanced look at two characters with very sketchy pasts, and it’s those pasts that will end up defining them in this week’s “Grace” and as the season goes on. (more…)

Radar Watch: TV pickups, Case Histories premieres, Once Upon a Time, and more!

TV Cancellations and Pickups

It was definitely an exciting week for those of us still stuck in our teen years or really passionate about young adult dramas. After canceling its new reality show H8R last week, The CW has given full seasons to all three of its new dramas Hart of Dixie, Ringer, and The Secret Circle. These three shows marked the first drama pickups for any of the networks so congrats! [Deadline] (more…)
