Review: We need to know what happened 16 years ago. Our lives depend on it.

I can’t help but feel like I’m the lone holdout to an episode that many are saying is finally The Secret Circle‘s chance to shine. I agree that it took the next step for the show, and I’ve heard it’s comparable to Vampire Diaries’ “Lost Girls”, but I was underwhelmed because The CW made it no secret where it’s all going and what’s going to happen next.

In that respect, I was disappointed. Still, “Heather” was a great change and shows they’re willing to go to that next level. (more…)

Review: How about you stop trying to turn me into him?

After such an exciting, well-paced, and thrilling episode last week, this one, sadly, seems slower by comparison. Don’t worry though because The Vampire Diaries still knows how to get its usual twists and kicks in, anyway. Besides, I’m sure it’s all just set up for the next especially dazzling episode.

Klaus, Rebekah, and Stefan are still in Chicago. Elena’s still getting comfortably close to Damon. And everything is about to change again after our two resident vamps and the humans display some “Disturbing Behavior”. (more…)

Review: People who aren’t who they claim to be can be very dangerous.

It was yet another thrilling episode of Revenge this week, a show that hasn’t let up in quality or in tone since it started. When we began this fall season, who would have thought it would become such a must-see?

Emily Thorne and Amanda Clarke, two very different people and yet the same person. In the very first episode, I wondered whether Emily was the warm person she showed when with Ashley or the cold person when she confronted Nolan. Well, the jury’s still out as to her “Duplicity”, but I’m starting to think even Emily doesn’t know. (more…)

Review: Well, well, well, if it isn’t the Thorne in everyone’s side.

For the past two weeks we’ve gotten to know Emily Thorne, and thanks to the letters from her father detailing everyone’s part in his arrest for treason, we’ve even been willing to go along with her plans for Revenge on the unsuspecting people of the Hamptons.

In the third episode “Betrayal,” that’s all about to change. For the first time, this episode makes us doubt everything Emily’s shown us to be true. Are past events not as clean-cut as we first thought? (more…)

Review: I want you to sleep with my husband, or I’ll tell everyone who you really are.

For a few days now I’ve been hearing there would be a big cliffhanger on Ringer, one even bigger than last week. So I found myself wondering, what could possibly be bigger than Bridget revealing her past to someone? …Oh, yeah, well, that.

The ending to “A Whole New Kind of Bitch” is not just a cliffhanger but a complete game-changer, their words not mine, for the show and could take it to new and exciting places. That is if what we’re led to believe is actually true. (more…)

Radar Watch: First cancellations, new Sherlock, Vampire Diaries casting, and more!

Better to Have Loved and Lost…No, Not Really

NBC has cancelled its much talked about, but not watched, drama The Playboy Club, making it the first victim of the fall season. (FOX’s New Girl was the first pick up.)

The peacock network has also granted full seasons to Whitney and Up All Night, while comedy Free Agents was unceremoniously cancelled. And just when I was getting used to Anthony Stewart Head hanging around L.A… [Deadline, Deadline] (more…)
