Radar Watch: First cancellations, new Sherlock, Vampire Diaries casting, and more!

Better to Have Loved and Lost…No, Not Really

NBC has cancelled its much talked about, but not watched, drama The Playboy Club, making it the first victim of the fall season. (FOX’s New Girl was the first pick up.)

The peacock network has also granted full seasons to Whitney and Up All Night, while comedy Free Agents was unceremoniously cancelled. And just when I was getting used to Anthony Stewart Head hanging around L.A… [Deadline, Deadline] (more…)

Review: You taught me to look at things in a different way.

I take back everything I complained about last week on The Vampire Diaries. I wondered where Klaus was leading Stefan, why Tyler and Caroline had lost their sweetness, and what was the deal with her father reappearing. Well, I don’t have to ask anymore because the show proved once again it has everything under control.

Vampires, werewolves, and hybrids, oh my! (more…)

Review: But everytime you feed, the blood makes it easier to let go.

One of the fall’s most anticipated returning shows is finally here. The Vampire Diaries is back with a lot of changes as well as some small surprises. (Including new guest star, David Gallagher.) Yet, after months on break and relaxing in the sun, they know to ease us back in gently.

“The Birthday” starts off with a violent bloody bang. And from there the mood just gets more and more emotional. Including, a scene near the end that has already made me cry. Yup, it looks like everything is different, and yet some things clearly haven’t changed, in our return to Mystic Falls. (more…)

Fall TV Preview: New and Returning Shows to Watch

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but summer is officially coming to an end. Schools are back in session, the pools are closing, and the good weather is wrapping up. But since I also like to be the bringer of good news: There’s less than two weeks left until the fall tv season returns! Aren’t you excited?

Starting September 13th, the fall crop of shows will be making their way to our tv sets. And in anticipation, I wanted to take a look at my top five new and returning shows. Plus, if you’re fretting about catching up, I’ve left my top five episodes you’ll want to see first. (more…)
