Season 1 of Gotham definitely had its share of ups and downs, but the best part was seeing many of the classic Batman villains come to life in brand new origin stories. The season finale brought even more drama to the show when it turned everything on its head, with gangster boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) departing the series (for now, at least), and Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) taking over as the new king of crime.

But the war for Gotham City is far from over. Showrunner Bruno Heller recently revealed at Comic-Con that season 2 will be “the rise of the villains” as Gotham “starts to decline into chaos.” Clayface and Mad Hatter have already been confirmed to appear later in the season, but some other new characters teased in the trailer …
